AI Policy

Last updated: 10/27/2025

TL;DR

We embrace AI as an assistive tool for editing and improving human writing. We reject unlabelled AI generation. Any work that uses AI generation must be clearly disclosed as “AI‑Generated,” so readers can make informed choices.

We respect artists’ intellectual property. We will never sell or license our authors’ works to third parties for AI training, and we will never use our authors’ works to train AI models or to generate derivative AI content.

1. Scope and Definitions

This policy governs the use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools by authors publishing on Chemical Wedding and by Chemical Wedding as a platform. “AI‑Generated” refers to content produced in whole or in part by generative AI systems beyond routine assistive features like spell‑check or grammar suggestions.

2. AI Use by Authors

  • Assistive editing allowed: Authors may use AI for editing, proofreading, fact‑checking suggestions, translation, outline organization, and similar workflow assistance.
  • Generation requires disclosure: If AI materially generates prose, poetry, or imagery, the work must be flagged asAI‑Generated at upload and in its public presentation.
  • Originality and responsibility: Authors are responsible for the truthfulness, legality, and originality of their submissions. AI assistance does not transfer responsibility.
  • No infringement: Authors must not prompt or use AI systems in ways that knowingly infringe others’ rights or replicate identifiable living artists’ styles without permission.

3. AI Use by Chemical Wedding

  • No training on creator works: We will not use our authors’ or artists’ works to train AI models or as the basis for generating new AI content.
  • No sale or licensing for training: We will never sell or license creator works to third parties for AI training.
  • Respect for IP: We prioritize creator rights and comply with applicable copyright and related laws.
  • Limited internal tooling: We may use AI to help improve platform operations (for example, grammar suggestions in UI copy or non‑creative code assistance), never to generate or train on creators’ content.

4. Disclosure and Labelling

  • Clear flags: Works that include AI generation must be clearly labeled as AI‑Generated where they appear on the platform.
  • Reader choice: We provide readers with context so they can choose whether to engage with or support AI‑Generated works.
  • Updates: If a previously human‑only work is later revised using AI generation, the author must update the disclosure status.

5. Copyright and Intellectual Property

  • Ownership: Authors retain rights in their works as set out in our Terms of Service. Using assistive AI does not change ownership of the author’s original contributions.
  • Warranties: By publishing, authors represent they have the rights to the material they upload and that it does not infringe third‑party rights.
  • Takedown: We respond to valid copyright claims. See our DMCA policy for process and contact details.

6. Data and Privacy

  • No creator data for training: We do not provide creators’ content or personal data to AI vendors for model training.
  • Privacy first: Our use of any AI tooling complies with our Privacy Policy and applicable data‑protection laws.

7. Moderation and Enforcement

We may request edits, add disclosures, limit distribution, or remove works that violate this policy. Repeated or egregious violations may result in account restrictions or termination, consistent with our Terms of Service.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this AI Policy as technology, regulation, or community standards evolve. Significant changes will be communicated via email or in‑product notices. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
